Quality of Life Consultation
If you're uncertain about whether it's time for your pet to be euthanized, our veterinarians can provide a quality of life Consultation to offer clarity.
- Is it time to consider euthanasia for my cherished pet?
- Is my pet experiencing pain or distress?
- How do I know when the right moment is?
- What signs should indicate that it's time?

At home consultation service
Our team of veterinarians will conduct a thorough examination from head to tail and discuss aspects of your pet’s daily life, including behavior, symptoms, movement, cleanliness, eating habits, and bathroom routines, in addition to other elements that influence your pet’s mental, physical, and emotional health.
We’ll also take into account any past medical history and ongoing treatments to offer the most effective advice and assistance. In certain situations, we might suggest strategies to enhance or preserve your pet’s quality of life and comfort.
Alternatively, we might conclude that the most compassionate choice is euthanasia at home. If this is the case, we’re here to provide support during the consultation or to plan a subsequent home visit.
Our at home quality of life consultation is $325 for up to 1 hour.
Telehealth consultation
Alternatively, you can speak directly with a Pet Transitions veterinarian over the phone. We’ll go over all aspects of your pet’s quality of life to make sure you and your family feel supported and confident with the appropriate next step.
The telehealth consultation is really helpful for families who know deep down that ‘it may be time’ but finding it incredibly hard to make the decision. A chat with a compassionate veterinarian offers invaluable support and guidance during such a confusing and heartbreaking time.
Our telehealth quality of life consultation $80 for up to 30 minutes.
It’s important to understand that without an in-person examination, our telehealth service is unable to diagnose, treat, or manage any disease, illness, or discomfort. Similarly, we cannot prescribe medication without having physically examined your pet.
